Did anyone catch this? I caught the closing stanzas of Mary's "Take Me As I Am", which she rocked btw, even brought herself to tears. Love, love, love Corinne Bailey Rae. Do yall have her album? If not, go get it for some deeply moving RnB.

This was on Sunday, January 20th at 11:35 PM PDT. I love, love, love Corinne's album. Funny thing, after a long debate with the people in my head, I decided against giving a copy to my friend for her bday last summer thinking its a bit too artsy/indie for this particular friend. Instead I gave her Usher and Destiny Child's concert dvds. Why did she ask me the other day, 'do you have that album?' I wanna get it. Roll Eyes

Nice to hear an English girl getting some international exposure.
I like "trouble sleeping". I like songs that sound that they were made years ago.

Has Amy Winehouse crossed over yet?

Hey Devane! I love Corinne, although I'm still mad at England for those bastard Beatles and what they did to Motown! And I'm an official Marsha Ambrosius stan (Floetry)!!! Who is Amy Winehouse, got any samples?

Also, I haven't been able to find the MJB video from Oprah anyplace. Do you know where I might look? It's not on Oprah, ABC.com, ABC7.com, YouTube, no place. Help?

I get back you on the Amy Winehouse stuff. I'm running out the door (10pm Friday Night).
I found a torrent for the Oprah show but it's not downloading. An episode of Lost, Prison Break or 24 is a lot easier than getting an Oprah show or Conan etc. I'll have another look tomorrow.

I searched to net for Amy Winehouse and came across her myspace page. I have no clue how to post links, but until Devane gets back to us, you can hear her jazz/fusion style there. Nice stuff.

Forgot about it......
Amy Winehouse is being released stateside in March so I guess you'll be hearing her pretty soon anyway.
These are tracks from her 2nd cd. She kinda crossed over to mainstream radio with "Rehab".
These songs are on practically every few minutes. I have seen her on TV a few times looking stoned or drunk. She is supposed to be a alcoholic. She even vomited on stage before. Think Old Dirty Bastard.

Amy Winehouse - Me And Mr Jones (My Favourite......really soulful)

ps.
Here's a clip of her singing you know I'm no good (live). There's an interview of someone else before it though. Warning! English TV isn't censored that much. Big Grin You may have a problem with the accents.

No luck on the Oprah show yet Frown

I thought the same too! I like this song anyway cos it sounds real old and soulful. Even though I'm not sure not she's saying all the time.
I checked out myspace......those live performances are nice. Kinda like that Lauren Hill Unplugged CD. This is a far cry from that Ciara & J-Lo R&B that's for sure.
