I was unimpressed. The camera trickery was innovative though - awesome use of freeze-frame sequencing during the battle scenes. Save for the first 10 minutes, the photography technique was more interesting than the dance moves they captured. No exaggeration!

The leading man, a watered down stand-in for Nick Cannon whose name I forget, moved irky jerky-ily and had no street cred whatsoever as a battle dancer. And Darren Henson's moves were too tired for words. Their receding hairlines stole every scene! Ne-yo's weasel-ly looking character was annoying and Chris Brown's didn't have enough shine. I did, however like how in tune and expressive Knockoff Nick was with his girlfriend and their chemistry in general. Dude makes a better boy toy than rugged dancer.

Would whoever hyped this movie please forward my refund ($20.50) to

My niece wants to see because Chris Brown is in it... But I don't want to spend my money to see nor do I want to waste my time... I may just make her see it on her own while I watch something else...

Who in the hell left the gate open? To the left, to the left, single-cell brains to the left (and up outta the thinking folks thread.)

To everyone else, the fact that liljah enjoyed the movie says it all. Big Grin

But seriously, I wanted to see some never-before-seen dance moves and the movie served up water down leftovers from Rize. They even recycled about 5-6 dancers from Rize and still couldn't save this movie. I halfway liked the love story between dude and Megan but it need more development.
